Nutrition

Good nutrition is the foundation of a healthy, happy child. To encourage positive eating habits from an early age, we provide a well-balanced diet that includes a variety of fruits and vegetables. Establishing healthy food patterns in the early years is essential for lifelong well-being.

Our healthy, seasonal menus are displayed in the Bumblebee and Ladybird cloakrooms, on the Noticeboard at the main entrance and on the Noticeboards outside the Butterfly and Caterpillar Room for easy reference.

These menus have been carefully developed by Laura Court, a qualified paediatric dietitian. Each seasonal menu—Spring, Summer, Autumn, and Winter—follows a four-week rotational plan. When designing the menus, Laura considered the latest national guidelines, including Setting the Table, Better Eating, Better Learning, and recommendations from the Care Inspectorate.

In 2024, our menus were reviewed and updated in line with the most current Setting the Table guidance to ensure we continue to meet best practices.

We follow a pescatarian menu plan, incorporating a wide variety of seasonal vegetables, fish, and Quorn products. This approach ensures we offer balanced, nutritious meals that support children's healthy growth and development.
